After the successful round 1 in Chennai, the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship moves to Nashik in June for its second round. The Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra is scheduled between 7th and 9th June 2013 and is organized by Western India Sports Association. Leading drivers and co-drivers from all over India are expected to participate in this second round under the following categories:
Indian National Rally Championship Overall (upto 2000 cc, FMSCI Group N Cars)
Indian National Rally Championship 1600 cc (upto 1600 cc, FMSCI Group N Cars)
Junior Indian National Rally Championship (upto 1600 cc, age of the driver restricted to 28 years, FMSCI Group N Cars)
Indian Rally Championship (upto 2500 cc excluding Turbo factor FIA Group N Cars)
and
Indian SUV National Rally Championship (upto 3000 cc including turbo factor)
The Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra opens with a Ceremonial Start from Rajeev Gandhi Bhavan, Sharanpur Road on Thursday, June 6 at 1645 hrs. The rally action starts from Friday, the 7th June 2013 with the Leg 1 of 2.03 kms Super Special Stage at the Dadasaheb Phalke Smarak. The first car will be flagged off at 1556 hrs.
On Saturday, the Leg 1 continues with the rally being flagged off from Hotel Gateway at 0700 hrs. The cars will then be on transport section for 64 kms to reach Manhere the first asphalt Special Stage of the Rally, then on to Windmills stages and then to Sangvi Stage, before they come in to service in the SMBT College. This loop is repeated for the second time and then the competing cars reach Hotel Gateway for the overnight Parc Ferme at the end of Leg 1, after battling 73.01 kms of speed sections (Special Stages).
FMSCI COMMITTED TO IMPROVING ALL FORMS OF MOTORSPORTS

December 11, 2012: The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) today reiterated its commitment to promote all forms of motorsports in India at the 39th AGM which was held in Chennai. The FMSCI also unanimously re-elected Mr. Vicky Chandhok to continue as President. India had yet another iconic year of motorsports with the successful running of the 2nd Formula One Indian Grand Prix and the 286 other events under the FMSCI banner. In terms of permits 310 permits were issued in 2011 and up to 27th November 2012, a total of 302 permits have been issued maintaining a healthy trend.
The FMSCI Council for the year 2012-13 elected its Office Bearers with the continuation of Dr. Vijay Mallya as Chairman, Mr. Chandhok as President and Mr. Bharat Raj as Vice President. For the first time, the FMSCI will have its Annual Awards Ceremony for 2012 and while organizers have their own awards ceremony the FMSCI has decided to play host for all winners of the National Championships. This will take place in the end of January 2013.
In terms of high profile events, on the back of the success of the second Indian F1 Grand Prix, the FMSCI also confirmed that Round 2 of the 2013 World Superbike Championship will run in India in March 2013. The grade one Buddh International Circuit will get its final FIM inspection on 19-20 January 2013 to then play host to 2 wheeler racing. The Formula 1 race in Greater Noida also saw full feature grids in the newly launched MRF Challenge 2012 and the returning JK Tyre Asia Series which ran as the support events.

FMSCI Team India 2nd in the Asia Cup of Road Racing

FMSCI’s Two Wheeler initiative yielding strong results
Japan, 28th August, 2012: The Asia Cup of Road Racing, initiated by FIM Asia to develop young talent in the Asian region kicked of in Sugo, Japan this week. The format sees the host country’s FMN (FIM recognized sporting body of the country) provide the two wheelers to all the riders along with complete hospitality to the host of riders from the Asian region. Each of the Asian countries/FMN’s send 2 riders that represent their nation in the Asia Cup with the top finishers picking up points for their country.
The FMSCI’s enterprising move came about to give riders that have excelled in the National Racing Championship a chance to test international waters and gain exposure and experience on a bigger platform. Having finished 4th in last years standing, FMSCI Team India has kicked off its 2012 campaign in style at Round 1 in Sugo, conducted by the Motorcycle Federation of Japan (MFJ). In an event that saw riders from 8 countries across the region - Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China Taipei, Sri Lanka, Korea & India – K. Jagan and Sridharan Shankar (both National Champions) did the job for FMSCI Team India to consolidate 2nd position. Jagan finished 4th in Race 1 and 2nd in Race 2 while Shankar came home in 6th in Race 1 followed by a 5th place finish in Race 2.
